On Friday I realised that I drink even more coffee on the go with my new reusable cup. I know this isn't ideal as my bank account will suffer even more than it already does. It also won't help my constant challenge to lose a few kilo's and keep my weight.
On Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and 40 days of fasting start till Easter. This means, no sweets, no cake, no sugar, no alcohol, and sometimes no meat. Meat is not my problem, but sweets and everything that contains chocolate or sugar is. So I thought I'll challenge myself from Wednesday on. Every time I fancy a coffee and am not set in a coffee shop to write, I won't buy it and put the money I was about to spend on it in a "fasting" envelope.
This will show me after those 40 days how much I would have spent on my cravings. Cravings, that are not needed. Cravings, that are bad for my hips. It needs a lot of stamina and determination, but I am super motivated about it.
Here are the rules for my challenge:
- Challenge starts on Wednesday, 26th February 2020 and finishes on 12th April 2020.
- Whenever I want to buy a coffee with a sugar syrup or a chai latte, I will refuse and have to put the coins in an envelope.
- The same procedure is applicable when I fancy a cake, a cookie or something else that is full with sugar
- Alcohol will only be drunk if there is a special event like my own birthday or someone else's and it's absolutely not avoidable
- If I meet with friends for a coffee, everything not containing a sugar syrup can be bought. If it is a caramel latte (for example), the coins go into the envelope.
- If I plan to go for a coffee shop and do work there, I can allow myself a coffee without sugar syrup or cake. Same as if I would meet with a friend.
- One big exception day: 3rd March, which is my birthday
Let the challenge begin. How much do you think I will save? Comment below!
