For some reason I had to go to Putney today - an area I called home for a good amount of 6 month's time.
While I walked down Upper Richmond Road, remembering how I used to walk this road back and forth every day, I passed by the "Bakehouse", a coffee shop / bakery just off the junction.
While I walked past, I slowed down and smiled. The first time I got to Bakehouse was with my boyfriend just after we moved to Putney. The little shop, smelling like fresh bread, caught my attention from the beginning and I dragged my boy there for breakfast. A really tasty avocado on bread, fresh from their own bakery 😋 It was very delicious. We sat outside, enjoyed the warm Autumn sun and our Saturday brunch. We watched all people passing by, old and young, mostly families and tried to adjust to our new home area.
In Winter, I looked for a warm, cosy place and ended up there again. With the biggest piece of carrot cake imaginable. Should you ever, ever need to be in need of sugar, Bakehouse is the place to go!
And today, I couldn't resist, and just walked into the shop, straight after my appointment. I ordered a large latte, opened my laptop and finished off my last hour of work. A better way to finish off your working hours is simply not possible!
